High Flight — Izaña / Teide
Launch from around 2,200 m near Izaña, below the Teide summit, and fly a long descent over the whole south of the island. Only on days with suitable conditions.
Izaña sits above the sea of clouds on the shoulder of Teide. On the right days we drive up early, launch from around 2,200 m and fly a long descent over the whole south of the island, with the volcano behind us and the ocean in front.
This flight depends on the weather more than the Classic. Wind at altitude, cloud base and thermals all have to line up. We make the call the evening before, and if it is not safe we move you to a Classic Flight or another day, no charge.
Bring a warm layer: it can be 15 °C colder at the launch than on the beach.
Best flying hours fill up first.
Mornings and late afternoons have the smoothest air and the best light. Tell us your dates and we will suggest the best slot.
