Three launch sites, three very different flights. All of them land in the same place, by the sea at La Caleta in Costa Adeje, but what happens between take-off and landing changes a lot with altitude. Here is how we choose on the day, and how you should choose when you book.
Taucho — the reliable one (~800 m)
Taucho is a small village above Adeje with a grassy launch facing the sea. It is the site we use most, for a simple reason: the sea breeze arrives here cleanly and early, and the glide to the coast is direct.
- Flight: 15–25 minutes, with the Adeje ravines below you and the whole coast from Los Cristianos to La Caleta in front.
- Feel: calm and smooth. Perfect for a first flight, children and anyone who wants to look rather than scream.
- When: most days of the year, morning and late afternoon.
- Package: Classic Flight.
Ifonche — the big ravine (~1,000 m)
Ifonche sits a little higher and further into the mountains, on the edge of the Barranco del Infierno. The extra 200 m of height buys a longer glide, and the views into the ravine are the most dramatic of the three.
- Flight: 20–30 minutes on a good day. More height means more time to play with turns at the end.
- Feel: still calm, but the launch is more exposed and we are more selective with the wind.
- When: days with a steady south-westerly breeze. We decide between Taucho and Ifonche on the morning.
- Package: Classic Flight, same price. You do not pay extra for Ifonche; you get it when conditions allow.
Izaña — above the clouds (~2,200 m)
Izaña is on the shoulder of Teide, next to the observatory, well above the trade-wind cloud. Launching here means starting with the volcano behind you and a sea of clouds, or the whole south coast, below.
- Flight: a long descent, considerably longer than the Classic, finishing on the coast.
- Feel: big. Cold at the top (bring a jacket), expansive, quiet. It is the flight experienced travellers come back for.
- When: only on calm days with the right wind at altitude and a usable cloud base. We make the call the evening before.
- Package: High Flight. Transfer up to Izaña included.

Which one should you book?
If it is your first time, or you have children with you, or you have a fixed day: book the Classic Flight and let us choose between Taucho and Ifonche on the morning. You will get the best flight the day allows.
If you have several possible days, like mountains more than beaches, and want the flight you will talk about for years: ask for the High Flight and give us two or three dates. If Izaña is not on, we fly you from Ifonche or Taucho instead, and you only pay the Classic price.
